Frequently asked questions
How do I download Ally Bank transactions as CSV or Excel?
Sign in at ally.com and open the account; recent transaction history can be downloaded from the activity view. Full monthly statements live under Statements & Tax Forms as PDFs. For complete months — opening and closing balances included — download the statement PDF and convert it with the tool above.
Do interest payments and internal transfers come through?
Yes. Every dated line on the statement — deposits, interest paid, transfers between Ally accounts, debit card purchases, fees — lands in the preview as a transaction row, classified as debit or credit. Nothing is filtered out; review the preview and categorize in Excel or QuickBooks.
Does it work with Ally savings and money market statements?
In most cases, yes. The parser works from layout heuristics (dates, amounts, running balances) rather than account-type templates, so Interest Checking, Online Savings, and Money Market statements generally parse. Savings statements are a handy way to track interest income at tax time. The balance-match badge confirms the totals before you export.
Where does my Ally statement go when I convert it?
The file goes nowhere: it is opened with JavaScript in your browser tab and never uploaded. The extracted text is parsed on our server in memory and discarded — never logged or stored.
How do I know the extraction is correct?
When the statement's beginning and ending balances are detected, the tool checks that beginning balance plus all parsed transactions equals the ending balance, and shows a green match badge (or a warning with the exact difference). You can edit any row in the preview until it matches, then export with confidence.
I already paid but lost my license key — what do I do?
Every purchase emails you a Gumroad receipt that shows the license key. If that message is lost, search your inbox for "Gumroad" and open the receipt to copy your key. Then re-activate here via the "Enter license key" link in the top navigation.
