Frequently asked questions

How do I download Discover transactions as CSV or Excel?

Sign in at discover.com and open the card or account. On the activity page, set a date range and use the download/export option — CSV and Excel formats are offered for recent activity, roughly the last year. Monthly statements are PDFs under Statements. For anything older, convert the statement PDF with the tool above.

Does it work for both Discover cards and Discover Bank accounts?

In most cases, yes. The parser works from layout heuristics (dates, amounts, running balances) rather than account-type templates, so Discover it card statements, Cashback Debit checking, and online savings statements generally parse. Card statements list purchases against payments and credits; the parser assigns the direction of each row. The balance-match badge confirms the totals before you export.

What about the cashback bonus section on my statement?

Rewards summaries are not transactions — the parser targets the dated list of charges, payments and credits, so the cashback bonus recap does not become spreadsheet rows. If a summary line ever slips through, delete that row in the editable preview before exporting.

Is it safe to convert a Discover statement here?

Your statement is opened and read by JavaScript running in your own browser tab — the PDF itself is never uploaded. Only the extracted text items are sent for parsing, processed in memory and discarded immediately; nothing is stored. Closing the tab wipes everything.

Why not just copy and paste from the PDF?

PDF tables paste into Excel as jumbled single columns — dates, descriptions, amounts, and balances merged together. This tool understands the column structure, separates amounts from running balances, classifies debits vs credits, and verifies the math against the statement's own opening and closing balances.

I already paid but lost my license key — what do I do?

Your Gumroad receipt — emailed instantly after purchase — shows the license key. If it has gone missing, search your inbox for "Gumroad" and open the receipt to copy the key. Once retrieved, use the "Enter license key" link in the top navigation to unlock full exports again.
